🌼 Staying fit is a great way to improve your mood and overall health. Many people struggle with staying fit over time, but the benefits of fitness definitely outweigh the costs. With some commitment and motivation, you can maintain your physical fitness for years to come!

🍀 Be kind to yourself

Individual motivation – or the lack of it – is only part of the bigger picture. Money, parenting demands or even where you live can all be stumbling blocks, says Sniehotta. Tiredness, depression, work stress or ill family members can all have an impact on physical activity. “If there is a lot of support around you, you will find it easier to maintain physical activity,” he points out. “If you live in certain parts of the country, you might be more comfortable doing outdoor physical activity than in others. To conclude that people who don’t get enough physical activity are just lacking motivation is problematic.”

Segar suggests being realistic. “Skip the ideal of going to the gym five days a week. Be really analytical about work and family-related needs when starting, because if you set yourself up with goals that are too big, you will fail and you’ll feel like a failure. At the end of a week, I always ask my clients to reflect on what worked and what didn’t. Maybe fitting in a walk at lunch worked, but you didn’t have the energy after work to do it.”

🍀 Work out why, don’t just work out

Our reasons for beginning to exercise are fundamental to whether we will keep it up, says Michelle Segar, the director of the University of Michigan’s Sport, Health and Activity Research and Policy Center. Too often “society promotes exercise and fitness by hooking into short-term motivation, guilt and shame”. There is some evidence, she says, that younger people will go to the gym more if their reasons are appearance-based, but past our early 20s that doesn’t fuel motivation much. Nor do vague or future goals help (“I want to get fit, I want to lose weight”). Segar, the author of No Sweat: How the Simple Science of Motivation Can Bring You a Lifetime of Fitness, says we will be more successful if we focus on immediate positive feelings such as stress reduction, increased energy and making friends. “The only way we are going to prioritise time to exercise is if it is going to deliver some kind of benefit that is truly compelling and valuable to our daily life,” she says.

🍀Drink a lot of water

The human body is made of about 50-65% of water, and you need to keep replenishing it. Your body sweats a lot of that water so you need to put it back in.
The amount of water you should drink relies on how much you weigh. To calculate how much water you should be drinking, take your weight and multiply it by 67% (2/3). So, for instance, if you weigh 130 pounds (59 kg) you should be drinking about 87 oz (2.6 L) of water per day.
If you are exercising you will need to increase your amount of water intake to replenish what you are sweating out.

🍀Be social

If you involve other people in your exercise routine, you'll see a positive impact in your results. Finding a workout buddy can help with accountability. If you schedule an activity with a friend, you are less likely to cancel than if you were only cancelling on yourself.[6]
Group exercise classes also offer benefits. In classes, instructors can offer encouraging words. They can also motivate you and correct your form to make sure that you are doing each move safely and effectively.
Working out is a great way to meet new people. Try joining a running club or a tennis league. You'll make friends with similar interests and stay in great shape.

🍀Get the right nutrients

When you're cooking your yourself, you can fully control the ingredients you use. This will help you make sure you are getting the nutrients your body needs. Eating well can help control your weight, and it can also give you the energy you need to exercise regularly.
Try to eat a diet that includes several servings a day of fresh fruits and vegetables. These are packed with vitamins and fiber.
Eat lean meats and fish. These will provide you with protein and also gives your body healthy fats.
Make your plate colorful. The more color on your plate, the more fruits and vegetables you are likely eating. Try for leafy greens, like kale, and vibrant orange tones, like those in sweet potatoes and carrots.

❤️ Foods to avoid are:

High in sugar: donuts, cakes, cookies, pudding, cereals, canned and dried fruits, and sodas.
High in fat: Processed meats, hydrogenated oil, and shortening.
Avoid foods containing artificial ingredients.

How to think positive thoughts :

Positive thinking can be achieved through a few different techniques that have been proven effective, such as positive self-talk and positive imagery.

Here are some tips to get you started that can help you train your brain on how to think positively.

🌼Focus on the good things

Challenging situations and obstacles are a part of life. When you’re faced with one, focus on the good things no matter how small or seemingly insignificant they seem. If you look for it, you can always find the proverbial silver lining in every cloud — even if it’s not immediately obvious. For example, if someone cancels plans, focus on how it frees up time for you to catch up on a TV show or other activity you enjoy.

🌼Practice gratitude

Practicing gratitude has been shown to reduce stress, improve self-esteem, and foster resilience even in very difficult times. Think of people, moments, or things that bring you some kind of comfort or happiness, and try to express your gratitude at least once a day. This can be thanking a co-worker for helping with a project, a loved one for washing the dishes, or your dog for the unconditional love they give you.

🌼Keep a gratitude journal

Trusted Source has found that writing down the things you’re grateful for can improve your optimism and sense of well-being. You can do this by writing in a gratitude journal every day, or jotting down a list of things you’re grateful for on days you’re having a hard time.

🌼Open yourself up to humor

Studies have found that laughter lowers stress, anxiety, and depression. It also improves coping skills, mood, and self-esteem.

Be open to humor in all situations, especially the difficult ones, and permit yourself to laugh. It instantly lightens the mood and makes things seem a little less difficult. Even if you’re not feeling it; pretending or forcing yourself to laugh can improve your mood and lower stress.

🌼Spend time with positive people

Negativity and positivity are contagious. Consider the people with whom you’re spending time. Have you noticed how someone in a bad mood can bring down almost everyone in a room? A positive person has the opposite effect on others.

Being around positive people has been shown to improve self-esteem and increase your chances of reaching goals. Surround yourself with people who will lift you up and help you see the bright side.

🌼Identify your areas of negativity

Take a good look at the different areas of your life and identify the ones in which you tend to be the most negative. Not sure? Ask a trusted friend or colleague. Chances are, they’ll be able to offer some insight. A co-worker might notice that you tend to be negative at work. Your spouse may notice that you get especially negative while driving. Tackle one area at a time.

🌼Don’t Let Ideals Ruin Things

A common mistake people make when making a shift in their attitudes is that they think that they have been perfect and do things perfectly all the time. This traps them from being positive.

Changing to a positive attitude can be gradual. While you may slip and stumble, continuing this way over time will strengthen your positive viewpoint more and more.

But if you set an inhuman standard for yourself and think you have to go from being a pessimist to always being an optimist, then you may find it hard to live up to that. And so you may feel like a failure. You get angry with yourself. And you may even give up on changing this habit and fall back into negative thinking.

So instead, focus on gradual change. If you are optimistic 40% of the time right now, try to improve this to be optimistic 60% of the time. Then, increase that to 80% when you are used to the new standard, then subsequently 100% if you can.

This focus on gradual improvement is far more sustainable and likely to bring long-term success than trying to reach an inhuman standard grounded in perfection.

🌼Read a self-Improvement Book

There’s nothing like a good self-help book. When you’ve got extra time on your hands or feel uncertain about your life — or work — direction, self-improvement is a good distraction. Plus, a good read will give you solid strategies to implement into your life.

A few picks to consider:

🍁Get Out of Your Head: Stopping the Spiral of Toxic Thoughts
🍁A Year of Positive Thinking: Daily Inspiration, Wisdom, and Courage
🍁Mini Habits: Smaller Habits, Bigger Results
Consider starting a healthy reading book club at work. Obviously you can’t read on the job, but you can discuss the book during a walking break or even over lunch. On a remote team? Schedule a short weekly Zoom chat to discuss your favorite takeaways.

How to get acne free clear skin :

CAUSES OF ACNE

1. Excess Oil production
If you have oily skin, then the chances of you getting acne are extremely high. Once there is excess sebum, it clogs your pores; once bacteria starts growing in a clogged pore, that’s when acne appears on your skin. Alternately dead skin or trapped hair follicles leads to blackheads and whiteheads as well.

2. Hormonal Imbalance
Hormonal imbalance is one of the many factors that can give rise to acne. During puberty, Androgens cause the sebaceous glands to enlarge and create more sebum—which then leads to acne. Hormonal changes related to pregnancy or the use of oral contraceptives also can affect sebum production. In certain cases, PCOD can be one of the major causes of acne.

3. Diet
Diet always plays a crucial role in maintaining skin health. Food items such as dairy, sugar, and carbs-rich products such as milk, bread, bagel, chocolates, chips, and deep-fried food can worsen acne. While we know it ain’t easy to give all up, try to control portion size and have a balanced diet to keep acne in check.

4. Stress
Stress always affects our skin more than you think. That is why your skin looks perfect when you are on a vacay more than when you are toughing it out at work. The best way to work around stress is to indulge in calming activities such as meditation and yoga that will help manage your stress levels more effectively. PS: Don’t forget to breathe when everything gets a tad too overwhelming.

5. Genetics
Unfortunately, this is just one thing that you really don’t have any control over. If your parents had/have acne, chances are you might have them too.

Remedies for Acne :

When pimples are popping up or you're about to lose them over dry skin and dark spots, your first instinct might be to reach for your wallet. But what if the secret to glowing skin could be found in your kitchen?

Cucumber Face Mask

If you’ve ever been to a spa, you’ve likely put cucumber slices on your eyes to reduce puffiness — and they may not be a sham treatment.
A past review suggests that cucumbers can have a soothing effect on the skin, reducing irritation, swelling, and pain. Hence, they can potentially relieve inflammation specifically associated with acne.

In the case of acne, “inflammation develops within the oil gland and follicle, leading to red, angry bumps in the skin,” explains Dr. Zeichner. When acne develops deep within the skin, “a cyst may develop and become filled with oil. If the cyst wall ruptures and the oil becomes exposed to the deeper skin layers, a robust inflammatory reaction often occurs,” he says.

Yeast and Yogurt Mask for Oily Skin

Although more research is needed, evidence published in April 2015 in the International Journal of Women’s Dermatology suggested that fermented dairy products like yogurt may promote skin health. Yogurt is also a probiotic, which has been shown to inhibit C. acnes.

To make the mask, combine 1 tsp of brewer's yeast with a little plain yogurt to create a thin mixture. Cook-Bolden says, "Apply it thoroughly to all the oily areas and leave on for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water; then use cold water to close the pores."

Green tea

Green tea is high in antioxidants that can help to reduce inflammation in the skin.
Green tea contains high concentrations of a group of polyphenol antioxidants called catechins.
Most people with acne have too much sebum, or natural body oils, in their pores and not enough antioxidants.

Antioxidants help the body break down chemicals and waste products that can damage healthy cells. Green tea may help clear out some of the debris and waste that has built up in open acne sores.

Green tea also contains compounds that may help to:

reduce the skin’s sebum production
reduce P. acnes
reduce inflammation

 Coconut oil

Like other natural remedies, coconut oil contains anti-inflammatory and antibacterial compounds.
These properties mean that coconut oil may destroy acne-causing bacteria and reduce redness and swelling of pimples. Coconut oil may also speed up healing in open acne sores.

Grape Cleanser

Grapes are a refreshing snack, whether eaten plain as a snack, halved as a salad topping, or frozen as a healthy dessert. But grapes likely don’t come to mind when you think of acne treatments.
Yet according to an article published in April 2016 in Advances in Dermatology and Allergology, resveratrol in the skin of red grapes may exhibit bactericidal activity against Cutibacterium acnes. formerly called Propionibacterium acnes, C. acnes is a bacteria in the sebaceous glands that contributes to acne.

When to see a doctor :

People may want to talk to their doctor if their acne sores are:

very painful

often infected

deep under the skin

not responding to home treatment

covering a large area of skin

causing emotional distress

HOW TO CONTROL HAIR FALL?

Your hair reflects your personality, a fact that has been acknowledged by every woman and plays a crucial role in the development of self-confidence. While good hair days bring along positivity and zeal, bad hair days are capable of making us feel dispirited!

Hair fall has a dreadful impact on hair which eventually leads to losing hair volume and excessive damage of hair. The falling out of tresses day by day due to stress, pollution, and changing weather can lead to long-term deterioration of the hair roots and contributing to a dry, flaky scalp.

WHAT IS HAIR FALL?

Hair Fall is the thinning of strands and incessant falling of tresses which leads to hair breakage and impairment. Hair Fall can occur due to innumerable causes like hormonal imbalance, deficiency of certain vitamins, lack of protein, emotional stress, or aging. All these factors can contribute to the thinning of our tresses and excessive hair fall.

There is no gainsaying the fact that the reduction of hair volume can trigger a sentiment of insecurity and under-confidence as there seems to be more scalp peeking through the hair strands.

TIPS TO CONTROL HAIR FALL :

Hair Oil Massage :

The most important is to regularly take good care of our hair by keeping it clean and maintaining it with the use of good natural and cosmetic products available in the market. Our methods of everyday washing and drying of hair are very important when it comes to avoiding hair fall.
Benefits :
Oil massage is the cornerstone for every hair care regime. A regular hair oil massage will help strengthen hair growth, right from the roots to the tip. Apply hair oil on the scalps and give it a soft massage. This will increase the flow of blood to the hair follicles, condition the scalp and strengthen your hair root. This also cuts down on stress which is one of the causes of hair fall.
Direction :
One can use either coconut, olive, mustard, or amla hair oil for a hair massage. Massage your hair at least once a week to get the best possible results in a month.

FENUGREEK :

Benefits :
Fenugreek seeds have hormones that help promote hair regrowth. They are a good source of protein and nicotinic acid that strengthen the hair shaft and prevent breakage. The seeds contain hormone antecedents that propel the growth of hair and rebuild damaged follicles.
Direction :
One of the easiest remedies is to soak the fenugreek seeds in water overnight and grind them to make a paste. Apply the paste on the hair and cover it with a shower cap for half an hour. Wash it off. This needs to be repeated every morning for a month for the results to appear.

ONION JUICE :

Benefits :
Onion has a high concentration of sulfur that helps with numerous hair conditions that cause hair to fall out. It helps in improving the blood circulation to the hair follicles, regenerates them, and minimizes inflammation. Several researches conducted on hair fall have established that onions contain great healing properties. These are effective in treating conditions such as androgenic alopecia or female pattern baldness.
Direction :
All one has to do is to extract the juice of an onion, apply it on the scalp and leave it for half an hour. Wash it off with water and then shampoo your hair.
